ABOUT DAVID MAURY

About Me

Award Winning Wedding Photographer - Kildare, Meath, Wicklow & Dublin

I came for a year.
I never left!
!

I'm French. I came to Maynooth for my Erasmus year, fell in love with Ireland — with the light, the people, the way a good day can turn into a great story — and never went back.

“Most couples tell me the same thing — they don't want their wedding to feel like a photoshoot.”

They've spent months planning a day they want to actually live. The last thing they need is someone bossing them into poses, pulling them away from their guests, and turning the whole thing into a production.

So I don't do that. I move quietly. I stay close enough to catch the moment when it happens — the look your mum gives you when she sees you in the dress, the laugh that comes out of nowhere during the speeches — and far enough away that nobody notices I'm there.

By the end of most weddings, couples tell me they forgot I had a camera. That's not an accident. That's the whole idea.

The result is a set of photographs that feel like your day actually felt — not a version of it staged for the camera, but the real thing, as it unfolded.

THE APPROACH

WHAT WORKING TOGETHER ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

We have a proper conversation first

Not a sales call — a genuine chat about your day, your venue, what matters to you. I want to know if you're planning a 300-person reception in a castle or a small lunch with forty people who really mean something to you. The approach changes. The care doesn't.

On the day, I blend in

You won't be directed into awkward group formations or pulled away for long portrait sessions. A little gentle guidance where it helps — mostly I'm just with you, watching, and ready when something real happens.

The gallery arrives — and it surprises you

Every image is edited by hand. You'll see moments you didn't know were caught. My favourite part of this job is watching couples open their gallery for the first time — that reaction is what I'm working towards, from the moment I arrive.

“David was fantastic — as someone who doesn't like to be the centre of attention or posing, he put me at ease completely. I felt like I had known him all my life. His presence genuinely made the day better. Far beyond my expectations of a photographer.”
